Was quite happy with the product. I myself do not have dandruff. But my dad's did. So i bet his quite happy that i take on this adventorial and he could solve his dandruff issue.

Before passing to him, i tried it myself.
Probably, it's not suitable for my hair now as i just coloured it. After usage, it was quite dry for me.

well, so i got my dad to try this. Gradually, it did help his scalp peeling problems. He's hair doesn't smell as oily as before. Dandruff still visible but under control already. It's about a week+ usage. he's dandruff problem was really bad. He kept scratching his head due to irritation and his back are all the white dandruff. OMG. super harmful for his scalp. But now, he don't scratch as much, he mention.

The downside of the shampoo is that, it kinda dry his hair a little compared to other shampoo and it smells like sulphur. To him, he was quite okay with this shampoo because it helps his scalp problem! where most shampoo doesnt seems to work for him. Dandruff is one issue, irritation is big issue where he cant stand the most.

I would say, it's a recommendable shampoo for people who has really bad dandruff problems. For people who has really long hair, i would suggest you to use moisturiser at the end of your hair after shampooing with Selsun. But do not apply moisturiser on the inner root of your hair, it will clog your pores in the scalp and cause more irritation, hair loss and increases the risk of getting oily hair and smelly hair.

Hair loss has a close relation with scalp problem.
You need to protect and keep your scalp healthy, so your hair can stay rooted to your head/scalp longer. Breakage of hair, not because of colouring or perming or rebonding, it's because your hair parts are not moisturise and hydrate enough to prevent dryness and it breaks. So moisturise your hair if you just had your hair dyed or chemically treated,e.g; perm, rebond, style. even it's just one time or first time, you still have to be go thru all this troublesome steps to keep it healthy and moisturise.

Surfactant

Surfactant ingredients are the detergents that combine with water to loosen and remove dirt, oil and dead skin cells from your hair. All Selsun shampoo use ammonium lauryl sulfate as the main detergent ingredient. In addition, most also include milder surfactants, such as cocamidopropyl betaine, cocamide DEA, lauryl glucoside and sodium methyl cocoyl taurate.

Emulsifier

Emulsifier ingredients give Selsun shampoo its smooth, pearly texture by preventing ingredients from separating. Selsun shampoo emulsifier ingredients include hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, magnesium aluminum silicate, glycol distearate, cocamide MEA, cetearyl alcohol and TEA lauryl sulfate.

Humectants

Selsun shampoo includes ingredients such as glycerin, panthenol and aloe vera leaf juice to protect your hair from damage due to dryness. Humectant ingredients attract moisture from the air and trap it, preventing it from evaporating back into the atmosphere. sounds good ah. So once your started using Selsun, and your dandruff problem has relieve, do not stop using. But alternate your shampoo. Our hair & skin needs a change after awhile to keep looking at it's best. They have temper too! HAHA!
